“Landscape 18 – Canal Street with Boats” by Mourad Darwish presents an intimate canal environment framed by closely spaced buildings rising along both sides of the waterway. The composition draws the viewer forward through the channel, where moored boats rest against stone edges and reflections extend across the water surface. Vertical facades in varied tones introduce depth and visual rhythm, while sunlight traveling through the narrow passage produces layered reflections that animate the lower portion of the scene. The composition reflects the relationship between architecture and water, where built structures and flowing surfaces interact to create movement and spatial depth.
